The ability to communicate using social and emotional intelligence and with good behavior or attitudes that are studied in more detail in neuroscience is an important skill today because communication is a dynamic process where the way of communicating will have a good or bad influence on your daily routine.

Good communication skills are needed everywhere. People who can express themselves positively through clear behavior either through words or writing, then that person has a way of conveying a good message to others. With clear communication and attitude, you can avoid misunderstandings and potential conflicts with other people, because this is where social intelligence is needed.

However, it takes time to develop and train them, so they can master how to communicate and behave ethically. Some of the communication skills that you deserve to practice and develop to improve your communication skills are as follows:

  1. Be an active listener

One of the basic human needs is the need to understand and be understood. Listening is one of the best ways to understand another person. Listen carefully to what other people have to say with all the powers of the body in mindfulness, but avoid interrupting and interrupting people while they are talking.

When speaking, try to speak, articulate, and concisely. Talking a lot does not mean that other people can understand it because sometimes a little talk is enough to summarize the message you want to convey.

To find out whether what you hear is true or not, you can confirm it by clarifying and concluding what other people have said. This method indicates that you are listening to them speak and check that the message received is as good as the one conveyed by that person.

Emotional intelligence is the ability to understand and manage emotions to communicate effectively, avoid stress, overcome challenges, and empathize with others. This skill can be learned over time and is not acquired instantly because it involves several aspects such as self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and managing relationships with others.

In a social environment, everyone focuses on the ideas and thoughts they have about many things. When you disagree or think someone else’s thoughts are inappropriate, you should still consider and respect that person’s thoughts or ideas. By understanding other people’s thoughts and ideas that are contrary to your thoughts and will help you learn to respect others.

  1. Confident

Confidence is very crucial in every communication interaction. Showing confidence will give the other person confidence in your ability to meet that person’s needs. But it’s worth remembering that being confident doesn’t mean you can be aggressive because that attitude can have unintended negative effects.

  1. Respect others

Having empathy will take you to the next level of respect for others. If you respect other people’s opinions and ideas then communication will be easy. Active listening or speaking by name are effective ways of communicating and do this sincerely.

  1. Open mind

Strong communication requires an open mind without inserting another agenda in it. If you don’t agree with the other person’s thoughts, then try to respect his point of view and find a middle ground that benefits all parties. Often, an open-minded approach to communication will lead to success.
