Alicia McCarvell is challenging what it means to wear “flattering” clothing.

On Tuesday, the Canadian influencer took to Instagram to share a videos of herself mulling over two outfit choices ahead of a Taylor Swift Eras Tour concert. She paired the post with a body positive message about dressing how she wants, not in what’s “flattering” for her body type by societal beauty standards.

in the Instagram Reels, the social media star first posed in a light gray denim ensemble. She paired “option one” with a black strapless top, a silver sequined cowboy hat and black platform slides with homemade lettering that read “Eras” on one shoe and “Tour” on the other.

Element about the outfit since she was worried she’d be too warm with an all-denim look at the show, McCarvell took off her jacket but wasn’t a fan of the rest of the look.

Then, she swapped her jeans for a black leather skirt and added on a sheer black cardigan, which eventually became her final outfit for the concert.

In her caption, McCarvell was open to suggestions on where she could

Heidi Bivens Breaks Down Euphoria Style In New Fashion Book

By avi maxwel / in , , , , , , /

I own the same Don’t Be Jealous baby tee that Alexa Demie wore in episode two, season two of Euphoria. When designer Vanna Youngstein announced she would be producing a handful of them for purchase after the episode aired, I ordered one instantly. The shirt has an attitude I don’t really possess, the kind that implies I’m confident enough to assume you are jealous of me and I’m not afraid to announce it. Everyone who sees me wearing it knows that, and most of them even say, “That is so Maddy!” because they already know where the shirt is from before I open my mouth.

Ever since I first watched euphoria, which debuted in 2019, I had wanted to dress like Maddy Perez, the character Demie plays, and I told this to the show’s costume designer, Heidi Bivens, over zoom last week. She laughs and says, “Yes!!!” before adding, “My hope and my desire was that the show would give some sort of license to anyone, even women in their 40s who want to look like Maddy, to get more confidence to be experimental with their style!” In the three years since the show’s release, Maddy Perez has become more

Walmart Redesigns App And E-Commerce Site; Aims To Transform Shopping Experience

By avi maxwel / in , , , , , , , , /

Walmart Inc.’s digital and e-commerce division has been busy retooling the retailer’s app and e-commerce site, which feature hundreds of millions of products. As Tom Ward, executive vice president and chief e-commerce officer, told me, “Everyone knows that 90% of the US population lives within 15 miles of a Walmart store, but the closest store to our customers is the one in their pockets. ”

Of course, Ward was referring to the Walmart app, and said, “We’re digital turbo-charging. We’re giving the digital storefront a revamp. If we can remove the friction with express delivery, among other things, consumers will be grateful.”

Over the past year, Walmart has made hundreds of enhancements to transform the core digital experience for customers, elevating its e-commerce offerings by creating more personalized and seamless interactions that make shopping “how it should be: fast, easy and fun,” Ward said.

Now, the world’s biggest retailer is improving the way customers can explore the endless aisles of walmart.com, imbuing the e-commerce site with a sleek and modern

Questionable ’00s Trends That Have Returned

By avi maxwel / in , , , /

Time travel may not be a thing yet, but when it comes to fashion, it kind of feels like we’re stuck somewhere around 2002. For years at this point, old ’00s and Y2K fashion trends have been resurfacing, ranging from the cute (butterfly everything!) to the questionable (we’re still on the fence about dresses over jeans).

20th Century Fox

Perhaps the reason we’ve fallen so deep into Y2K round two is because not everyone was old enough (or even alive yet) to enjoy — and later, regretted heavily — some of the more confusing, unflattering, or just plain strange styles. Or maybe many of us are just nostalgic for simpler times, when our main source of outfit inspiration was showing like Lizzie McGuire or Laguna Beach. Whatever the case, there are a whole lot of layering tricks and random accessories that have weaseled their way back into our lives, and although we may cringe at first, it might be time to give them a chance.

Here’s a refresher on which Y2K and early ’00s styles to add to — or dig out of — your closet.

Some new homes are being built with ‘package areas’ for online shopping deliveries

By avi maxwel / in , , , , , , /

A Georgia realtor highlighted a convenience that some builders are adding to new construction homes — but TikTok is split on whether to call this one a win or a major fail.

According to Lexi Blevins (@lexi_blevins), who sells real estate in the greater Atlanta area, “package doors” are starting to become a trend to keep online deliveries safe from rain, snow and porch pirates.

“So this has gotta be the coolest feature I’ve ever seen in a new construction home,” Blevins says at the start of her video.

“This right here is your package area,” she continued while standing by the first of two doors on either side of a small foyer. “This door locks securely from the inside so your Amazons guy can just have the code to your secondary door and all of your stuff can just stay right here.”

“How awesome is that?” Blevins asks before the video ends.

According to Forbes, the pandemic triggered a massive uptick in online ordering that fundamentally shifted the way most consumers shop. And according to marketing experts, the trend appears to be holding strong. in fact, US ecommerce sales reached an all-time high in
