Fashion Trends And Brands To Know From Spring 2024

By avi maxwel / in , , , /

As may have been expected, fashion forecasts for Spring 2024 showcased an abundance of florals. Bloom-shaped appliqués were plentiful at Balmain, Loewe and Margiela. There were botanical prints of all varieties: Some were eye popping and vibrant, while others more were dramatic and hyperrealist. Other trends that re-emerged this season included sleek, tailored suits in neutral tones, tiers of sheer, color-blocking and a playful spin on country club dressing.

Of all the style propositions presented on the runway for 2024, however, there were two trends that truly felt, well, groundbreaking.

Return To Bohemia

Chloe’s newly-resurrected bohemian gal for Fall 2024 stirred excitement, especially among those of us who spent a large part of our 20s in chunky heels, oversized vintage eyewear, flared jeans, and billowy tops. In the early 2000’s the boho-chic ideal was embodied through the looks served by the Olsen

Regarding fashion and specifically fashion week, the industry tries to uphold a delicate balance between longevity and trends. Designers work to craft collections that feel cohesive to their previous work while still breaking some form of a barrier, pushing their designs forward and inspiring a new season of style. As new designer collections debut around the world during fashion month, we begin to see clear fashion trends for 2023 emerge.

Amongst TikTok’s “hot takes” on fashion week and many designer’s feeble attempts to include realistic body types on the runway, we are left with a jumble of opinions, critiques and questions. But when it comes to trends, there is one question that reigns supreme—would you wear it?

As consumers, we subsequently work through the same tug-and-pull of trends that designers do but on the receiving end. Do we aim to be aspirational or affordable? Do we shop for the moment? Exhilarating, though potentially fleeting. Or, do we shop for the future? Curated for forever, at the risk of playing it a bit safe. Spoiler alert: there’s no correct answer.

To be hyper-aware of trends and the evolving landscape of your own closet is to be

The 14 Spring 2024 Fashion Trends to Start Shopping Now

By avi maxwel / in , , , , /

Goodbye, lumpy puffers and salt-caked boots. Hello, spring 2024 fashion trends! If your wardrobe is starting to feel a bit tired after months of gray skies and howling winds, you’re in luck—a new season is on the way, bringing plenty of fresh inspiration from the spring runways along with it. Nostalgia ruled last year’s biggest trends, from the revival of early-2010s fashion to so-called stealth wealth, which revisited ’90s-style minimalism. And experts say this year’s trends, like the disco decadence of sequins and the return of grade-school staples like bows and preppy polos, follow the same arc, but with a little more playfulness this time around.

So what will we be wearing this year? While you’ll still see plenty of bold red, a holdover from our favorite winter trends, on the streets, we’re expecting to go a bit darker in maroon this spring. (Don’t worry; bright blue is also trending if you’re dreaming of clearer skies ahead.) Bow accessories and rosettes are poised to get even more popular, jumping from your TikTok feed to real life. And if you’re looking for an excuse to dress a little bolder, we recommend investing in a fringed jacket, leopard-print ballet flats, or a

This article is part of Spring Fashion Month, where we’re breaking down your must-have fashion pieces for the next few months. From denim jackets to comfy sandals, we’re asking editors, influencers and experts about the go-to pieces they wear through spring and beyond.

“Spring is defined by new beginnings,” explains NYC-based art world professional Jack Nelson. “It’s a moment to reintroduce vibrancy and light into our days, and it’s an opportunity for us all to consider our personal redefinitions or our style evolutions.” Hazel Morley, Bonobos’ vice president of design, echoes this sentiment. “As the weather starts to thaw, it’s a great time to be more playful and add some color or a fun print into your wardrobe.”

“Take the time to properly evaluate what you can eliminate from the year prior and assess the new pieces you want (to) usher in,” explains
